چکیده
Introduction Adenomatoid tumours of epididymis are common benign tumours whose grey-scale and colour Doppler ultrasound features can be variable. As it is the case for any palpable scrotal mass, accurate diagnosis and exclusion of malignancy is crucial and essential to avoid unnecessary surgeryand anxiety for the patient. Tissue elastography and contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) represent two recently introduced ultrasonographic techniques which have the potential to further evaluate scrotal masses. We present a case of an adenomatoid tumour of the epididymis imaged with grey-scale, colour Doppler, tissue elastography (TE) and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.

Ultrasound diagnosis of paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma.
Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most common tumour of the lower genitourinary tract in children in the first two decades. Paratesticular rhabdomyosarcoma is associated with a significantly better outcome than lesions elsewhere in the genitourinary tract. Although ultrasound is considered the imaging modality of choice for evaluating intrascrotal pathology, the ultrasound appearance of paratesticular rh...
متن کاملAdenomatoid tumor of the testis mimicking malignant testicular cancer on multiparametric ultrasound
BACKGROUND Adenomatoid tumor is one of the most common histological subtypes of paratesticular cancer arising from the epididymis. In very rare cases, these tumors appear as intratesticular lesions originating in the tunica albuginea, representing a diagnostic challenge. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case of a 51-year-old man with a small (0.9 cm) hyperechoic lesion of the left testicle mimi...

The adenomatoid tumor of the epididymis (EAT) is a neoplasm located in the paratesticular region. Mesothelial origin has been mentioned and inflammation has played some role in the development of these tumors. Physical examination and testicular ultrasound constituted important tools in the diagnosis. Some reports have mentioned malignant behavior, but it is very rare. Surgical treatment is the...
متن کاملAdenomatoid tumour of the epididymis: a case report.
Adenomatoid tumours are rare benign neoplasms involving the paratesticular regions, most commonly the tail of epididymis, however they involve various other structures like genitourinary system. Here, we report a case of adenomatoid tumor of the epididymis its ultrasound imaging features and review of literature.
متن کاملRare case of intra-testicular adenomatoid tumour.
Adenomatoid tumors are rare benign neoplasms considered of mesothelial origin. They are usually asymptomatic and slow growing masses. They account for 30% of paratesticular tumors and very rarely involve the testicular parenchyma. Only ten such cases have been reported in the literature so far. Ideal treatment should be excision of the tumor avoiding orchidectomy. Nevertheless, because of the r...
